Detective Sergeant Kirk Bane began his career with the Aberdeen Police Department in 1997. D/Sgt Bane commands the Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D.), the Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team and the Rapid Response Team (R.R.T.).
There are currently six (6) detectives in C.I.D., one whom is a Crime Scene Technician and another whom is assigned to the Harford County Joint Narcotics Task Force.

R.R.T. is made up of 4 highly motivated officers who work street level narcotics cases and gang suppression. The S.W.A.T. team consists of 12 highly trained officers assigned a variety of tasks to include execution of high risk search warrants and handling hostage/barricade situations.
D/Sgt. Bane has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Safety and Risk Management.
