Public Information Requests for Police Reports

Instructions

  1. Complete a Public Information Act (PIA) request form or make the request in writing, to the Records Manager.

  2. If you do not use the Form, include in your written request:  

    1. Your name, address and telephone number;

    2. Report Number; and

    3. Location/Address of incident.

  3. Your check or money order (no cash) should be payable to Aberdeen Police Department.

    1. Refer to the Document Fee List on Page 2

  4. Submit these items by mail or to the Aberdeen Police Department Records Section:

    1. The PIA Request form or other Written Request,

    2. The Juvenile Waiver (see #8) as appropriate,

    3. The Check or Money order payable to Aberdeen Police Department, and

    4. A Self-Addressed, Stamped Return Envelope.

  5. Requests will not be processed without the check or money order.

  6. Reports will be mailed within 30 days to the address listed on your request.

    1. Reports will not be processed while you wait.

    2. Reports will not be faxed to you.

    3. You may address urgent matters directly with the Records Manager.

  7. You will be notified by mail if your request is denied for any reason.

  8. Attach a Juvenile waiver from the court to any request for a report that involves a juvenile arrest.

    1. Your request will be denied if the waiver from the court is not attached.

  9. Parents may choose contact juvenile services for information on the arrest of their juvenile children.

 

Document Fee List

There is no charge to a victim of Domestic Violence for a police report, photos, or tapes.

 

Add $25.00 for Reports, Recordings, and Photos that require more than two hours of processing.

Calls for service are charged by the page and not by the incident.

Photos copied as part of the police report will be charged according to the number of pages of the report.

 

The Aberdeen Police Department does not bill for duplication of records.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pay a Parking Citation

 

Parking tickets must be paid within 10 days from the date of issue. Payments for citations will be taken between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Check or Money Order is accepted, NO CASH.  You may pay by mail with a Check or Money Order, made payable to Aberdeen Police Department.  Mailing address: 60 N. Parke Street, Aberdeen, Maryland 21001.  No online payments.  Fines double after 10 days.

 

Failure to satisfy the violation may result in the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) being notified and a hold against your registration renewal.

 

If you desire to stand trial you may elect to do so by notifying the Aberdeen Police Department of your intention within five (5) days after the date of the citation being issues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fingerprints

 

As of April 5, 2012, the Aberdeen Police Department has suspended offering Applicant Fingerprinting services. Applicant fingerprinting services are currently available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at the Bel Air Branch of the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration located at 501 West MacPhail Road in Bel Air MD.
