RED FRIDAY
RED Friday is a day dedicated to showing support for the United States military by wearing red clothing in honor of troops who are deployed or stationed overseas.
The concept of Red Friday, or Remember Everyone Deployed (R.E.D.), is believed to have originated in 2015 when students at Mansfield University began wearing red on Fridays.
Red Friday serves as a reminder for people to think of the troops and emphasizes the importance of keeping them in mind. It is also a way to show solidarity with military families and civilians, regardless of the service member's rank or location.
Starting in January 2025, the Aberdeen Police Department will honor Harford County, MD residents or their family members who are deployed or stationed overseas on our social media accounts.
